Description

🎉French Onion Soup, Salmon & Mashed Potatoes – European Culinary Workshop 🎉 by Le Cordon Bleu-trained Chef Instructor Andrew Loh

Overview

Participants will learn how to do a good French Onion soup, from knife skills required to cut the onions into small strips used in the cooking of the onion soup, to caramelizing onions, crisping bread and blow torch application for final presentation.

Additional hands-on experience in knife handling and skills.

Cartouche* Cooking: Learning how to cook a fish quickly using this French Technique & create a restaurant-style fish and potato dish with good presentation.

* A Cartouche is a parchment-paper lid that allows for some evaporation during braising while keeping the meat (or other food) submerged. It is a French technique for long-simmering applications and also handy for poaching fruit, when you want just a bit of liquid to escape.

 

Level: Beginner

Chef Instructor Bio – Andrew Loh:

Chef Andrew started learning from his mum in the kitchen at a young age of 15. The wonders of cooking attracted Chef Andrew in a way beyond his imagination.

After he had finished his studies in the United States, Chef Andrew began his career in the finance industry. Soon after, he got an offer from Le Cordon Bleu London to commence professional culinary and pastries training. He later started up his restaurant & trained his chefs in London which has further honed his culinary and pastries skills in recent years, before he returned to Singapore.

Chef Andrew is passionate about teaching and one of his aspirations is to impart his culinary knowledge and skills to others, especially the next generation to produce better food and reduce food wastage. He has often been described as a very caring and patient instructor to ensure his students derive the most knowledge and skills from his workshops. He hopes that more people will get into the kitchen to whip up pastries and cuisine to have fun, de-stress and make delicious meals for their loved ones.

  1. Kindly confirm with Sharon via WhatsApp at +65-9688 2777 if there are still available seats for the workshop before proceeding with the online registration.
  2. Complete the registration online by clicking “Add to Cart”, followed by “View Cart”, then “Proceed to Checkout”. Complete your particulars & add remarks in the section “Order Notes (optional)” eg Workshop Date / Time (if more than 1 option is available), Account Holder Name (if different from the name you registered for the class) and your Friend’s name & hp number if you are signing up for others.
  3. Please make Payment via Paynow / Paylah / Bank Transfer etc. with remarks during transfer your Name (if your account holder name is different from the name you registered for the class), Order number & Class Date.

  5. Once payment & payment receipt have been sent, your booking is confirmed and we will reserve a seat(s) for you.
